Commentator Marc points out that HKND has now announced that it will postpone serious work on the Canal Rojo for another year. I have been saying for a while that this project is not going to happen unless the Chinese government makes a big and hard-to-hide financial commitment to the project. Right now, with China flirting with recession, such commitment seems further away than ever.
What's the status of the Monkey Point Oil Pipeline project? And, interested to know if Phenix Energy Group is the company being used for the project.

To my knowledge, everything is on hold. In September, the Nicaraguan government asked the Taiwanese to look into building a port at Bluefields, instead of Monkey Point. That was Ortega's way of telling HKND that the deal was still on after his July warning. http://noelmaurer.typepad.com/aab/2015/07/ortega-agonistes.html
Phenix seems slightly shady from here, but I couldn't really tell you.
