A month back, we argued that the job and wage data in Mexico implied that when U.S. job growth picks back up, so will immigration from Mexico. Jobs are plentiful in Mexico these days, but wages are low: the reason for low emigration, in that view, is the lack of American demand rather a lack of Mexican supply.
It appears as though survey results from Pew are consistent with that view.
