Completely OT, but it might be of interest to you, Noel. You probably know all this, but...


Baseball and Puerto Rico are /always/ related. The connection is obvious.

Although I root for Mexico in the World Baseball Classic. The reason is clear. Most of the countries in the competition fall into two categories: baseball is completely secure in their national pantheons (say, Korea), or baseball ain't going anywhere no matter how well they do (frex, the Netherlands).

Mexico is the exception. Baseball there is more secure than soccer here, but it's a far second. Anything that makes it more popular is a Good Thing.

Plus, it's the country that gave us the following cry:

"Se va, se va, se va, baaataaaaaazoooooooooo!!!!"
