Or the Maracas Royal Road, as the case may be. This is where Amma and I are going to get married next June.
Welcome to suburbia, Caribbean-style. Amma didn't grow up out there: her family lived in the Belmont section of Port-of-Spain when she was growing up. This house is a product of upward mobility and economic growth, not Latin American-style intergenerational economic aristocracy. One sign of that (not visible in the picture) is that there is a chicken coop right off to the left outside the frame. Yes, with actual chickens. That lay eggs. And occasionally get eaten themselves.
Amma was very disappointed to discover that most American suburbs will not let you keep chickens in your backyard.
Here's a view of the neighborhood from ground level:
The above is really for you, Claudia, per your request in Washington.
Why, thank you!
I refrain from commenting since I don't want to embarrass her (and you know already that she's cute!).
Best to both of you,
Claudia

Is this the street mentioned in V.S. Naipaul's novel, Miguel Street?

Welcome, Quisten!
Yes, the title of the post refers to the street in the novel. The lower photograph is of the Maracas Royal Road.
